I want to thank you in advance for the excelent work and effort that you and your wife have put into your channel....Well done. Have you ever given any thought to exploring basic joinery from skratch as a topic, including proper layout and sizing of the members from a strength and utility standpoint? Getting back to the basics, homesteading is remote and relying on modern methods seems to me to be cheating...yourself from a self reliance standpoint.
I just want to point out that if your off the grid..so to speak, then you should have pioneer like skills, they were capable, adaptive and used basic jointery to ensure thier effort would withstand heavy usage and be past down to the next generation. The cabin series was going in that direction, I would love to see more of that content, it was about as self reliant as you can get...with the aid of a chain saw...
The basics would start with common jointery, how to make strong durable connections, ranging from furniture, to structural jointery...after all we rely to much on glue, bisquites, screws and nails to do all of the work, and what if those items were in short supply or unavailable.
Something to think about...
