Always think of that "gift" every time you buy a gift for someone or when you buy for yourself. Stop and remember what gift you were given, did you accept it?

Is it a free gift or are works essential to qualify for the gift? I read this story from our Daily Bread Ministries about a grandfather giving a car to his grandaughter. The gift was undeserved. Yet if the grandaughter was a wicked kid God reserves the right to pick and choose who he gives the gift to. So i try an remember to obey God out of love for Him if nothing else.
Romans 6;14 has us not under the law but under grace. Yet everybody else who is unsaved is under the law but not under grace. To me works out of unbelief are essential to damnation. So works are essential to salvation.Yet i try and be careful when i say that. I see law still there for us and them. Yet being under grace God has taken that law away out of love and grace.Yet i remember those who may have been saved if they had just obeyed the Lord.
Ephesians 2:8-10 reminds us nobody can do enough for salvation. Paul to me did not say works are not essential to salvation. God chooses to give his gift to those who seek him in the right way. To me desiring to obey God by asking him for salvation is important.
God bless us.
